Question types: Multiple Choice, Image Choice and Dropdown

These 3 question types can be used to provide multiple choices in different ways. For grid question types, please refer to the article Question Type: Grid - Multiple Choice and Grid - Dropdown.

Multiple Choice

  1. Click on the + New Question link.
  2. Choose Multiple Choice. You can also drag your question type from the side menu and drop it to the position where you wish to insert.

    a. Enter your question title. This field is required.
    b. Choose Single-select (radio buttons) or Multi-select (checkboxes).
    c. Enter your choices or pick from the choice library.
    d. Add more choices as needed.
    e. Check or uncheck the Enable multi-column format as needed.
    f. Check or uncheck the Allow an additional comment as needed.
    g. Check or uncheck the Require an answer to this question checkbox. When checked, an answer is required for the question.

  3. Click on the Save button, or the Save + Add button to add a new question.

For Single-select (radio buttons), at least 2 choices are required. For Multi-select (checkboxes), at least 1 choice is required.

When the Add "Other" as an answer option checkbox is checked, a textbox will be added below of all choices for survey participants. This allows them to enter their own answer.

When the Add "None of the above" as an answer option is checked, a new exclusive "None of the Above" radio button or checkbox will be added below all choices for survey participants.


Image Choice

Image choice is a simple question type that displays the possible responses in terms of pictures. Using images or visuals often connects with your audience since they typically respond better to a picture. The use of images may also foster more honest opinions. Finally, image choice questions combat survey fatigue and, thereby, ensures more completed surveys.

  1. Click on the + New Question link, then choose Image Choice.

    a. Enter your question title. This field is required.
    b. Choose Single-select (radio buttons) or Multi-select (checkboxes).
    c. For each choice, upload your image, or pick from your image library, or pick from our system gallery, or enter the URL of an image on the web. Add an optional label as needed.
    d. Add more choices as needed.

Dropdown
